For Today

July 31, 2010

Outside my window... it is so hot and the humidity is unbearable

I am thinking... that I need to get in my 20 minutes of cardio - somehow, someway

I am thankful... for all three of my precious baby girls (even though they drive me nuts sometimes with all the whining, crying, not sharing, hitting and provoking one another)

From the kitchen... it is fend for yourself tonight

I am wearing... brown shorts and a red shirt

I am reading... "Mommy's locked in the Bathroom - Surviving your child's early years with your sanity and salvation intact!" by Cynthia Sumner

I am hoping... that I don't loose my sanity before my hubby gets home! :)

I am hearing... children playing

Around the house... laundry is going, clothes are being folded and the kitchen is getting cleaned

One of my favorite things... is when my girls say "I love you" to each other

For Today

July 28, 2010.......

Outside my window... the sun is shining

I am thinking... about how my legs feel like Jello from last nights boot camp

I am thankful... that Christ gave his life for me so that I may have life in Him!!

From the kitchen... salad and banana for lunch

I am wearing... khaki shorts and an Auburn shirt

I am reading... "Mommy's locked in the Bathroom - Surviving your child's early years with your sanity and salvation intact!" by Cynthia Sumner

I am hoping... my throat stops being scratchy and that I am not coming down with something.

I am hearing... children playing

Around the house... laundry has got to get done TODAY

One of my favorite things... when my hubby just calls out of the blue to say "I love you!"

For Today

July 25, 2010........

Outside my window
... it is dark and the temp is 85 degrees

I am thinking... about the week ahead (very busy)

I am thankful... that my in-laws came to babysit last night so I could have a "date" with my hubby

From the kitchen... it was "fend for yourself" night

I am wearing... my most favorite clothes - my pajamas

I am reading... "Mommy's locked in the Bathroom - Surviving your child's early years with your sanity and salvation intact!" by Cynthia Sumner

I am hoping... that I do not die at Boot Camp this week

I am hearing... "Do, Re, Mi" from the Sound of Music

Around the house... things need to be picked up, laundry needs to be done, etc

One of my favorite things... when my 16 month old laughs - she has the best laugh

Until next time............

For Today

July 23, 2010...

Outside my window... I know it is hot - haven't been out of the house today though

I am thinking... about how I need to clean my house - it is nasty

I am thankful... for my children and their love for each other

From the kitchen... Brian cooked some Tortilla Soup today - it was fantastic

I am wearing... black "exercise" shorts and a t-shirt

I am reading... "Mommy's locked in the Bathroom - Surviving your child's early years with your sanity and salvation intact!" by Cynthia Sumner

I am hoping... to get a burst of energy soon so I can clean my house

I am hearing... quiet

Around the house... there is a house to be cleaned, laundry to be done, beds to be made, etc

One of my favorite things... sleeping in :)

For Today

July 22, 2010...

Outside my window... it is SUPER hot out

I am thinking... about how I need to finish editing wedding photos

I am thankful... that God has given me such a caring and loving husband

From the kitchen... so we didn't have pork chops last night - we took the kids to Chick-fil-A instead - so its pork chops, potatoes and who knows what else tonight

I am wearing... khaki shorts and a red t-shirt

I am reading... "Mommy's locked in the Bathroom - Surviving your child's early years with your sanity and salvation intact!" by Cynthia Sumner

I am hoping... to get rid of the headache I have and to get some much needed rest

I am hearing... children playing

Around the house... there is laundry to be done, toys to be picked up and children to be bathed

One of my favorite things... spending time with my hubby

Until next time.......

For Today

July 21, 2010...

Outside my window... sun is shinning and it is HOT

I am thinking... about how I need to finish cleaning my house

I am thankful... our church family, my girls and my hubby

From the kitchen... pork chops and I don't know what else

I am wearing... khaki shorts and a grey t-shirt

I am going... to try to find a toddler bed and bunk beds

I am reading... "Mommy's locked in the Bathroom - Surviving your child's early years with your sanity and salvation intact!" by Cynthia Sumner

I am hoping... for a better afternoon with the girls (its been a day of wailing and gnashing of teeth)

I am hearing... peace and quiet

Around the house... there are piles of laundry waiting to be washed

One of my favorite things... hearing my little ones tell each other "I love you!"

A few plans for the rest of the week: teaching swim lessons, teaching mother's day out class and date night with the hubby!!

Until next time.........

Prayer

Father -
You are a holy, wonderful, merciful Savior! Today I come to you and ask that you might grant me, as a mother and wife, the patience, understanding and strength that I need for each day. Thank you for the little ones you have entrusted to our care. Even though they may not get along at all times, You have blessed me by putting them into my life. What a joy they are! Thank you for allowing my husband to choose me despite my faults. Thank you for the love you have put in our hearts for each other! Thank you for such a wonderful blessing. Grant us mercy and grace as we strive to be a family that puts You first in our lives. Grant us wisdom in how to teach our children how to love and glorify You with their whole being. What a mighty and awesome God we serve!

~Amen

Until next time.........

Quote

Here is a quote I came across in a book I am reading - loved it so much I thought I would share:

"Try to live your life so that you wouldn't be afraid to sell the family parrot to the town gossip" ~Will Rogers

Until next time......

Conversation

Caroline (our middle daughter) is very much into the Dorothy (from the Wizard of Oz), Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, etc. Yesterday as we were getting ready for church our conversation went something like this:

Caroline: "Momma?"

Me: "Yes."

Caroline: "Can Dorothy come to our church today?!?"

Me: "No, honey"

Caroline: "Why!?!"

Me: "She has to go to her church!"

Caroline: "Oh! What church does she go to?"

Me: "First Presbyterian Church of Oz"

Caroline: "Oh!"

My friend Lisa would be so proud of me! :)

Until next time...........

Conversation

Here is the conversation we had in the van the other day:

EK - "Mom!?"

Me - "Yes"

EK - "Having sisters is sooo much better than having a dog!"

Okay, I just had to laugh! Tis true though! :)

Life of business..........

Yes, family and friends - we are still alive. We have been busy bees over the last couple of months. Everyone is doing fine and we are having a great summer. We hope things will start to slow down before the school year starts back up. Hope everyone is doing well.

Until next time........
