Kindergarten

My oldest daughter started Kindergarten today. I didn't think I would be so emotional, but I am! I knew this day would come and that I can't keep my babies from growing up. As I watched her excitement as she entered her classroom, I couldn't help but flash back to the day she was born. Where have all the years gone?!? They have slipped away from us too quickly. I can not wait for her to get home and tell me all about her day. Thank you Father for my precious little girl.

Until next time..........

School Time.........WHAT!?!........WAIT!?!

I can not believe that school starts again on Monday! Where did the summer go!?! My heart is filled with great joy, as well as great sadness as we approach the upcoming school year. I am saddened that our daughter is starting Kindergarten. I mean I knew this day was going to come, however, it has come way to fast. (I know I can get an Amen from all of the mothers out there). Next thing you know it she will be getting her ears pierced, her drivers permit, etc. I don't know how to stop the "growing up" stage so if any of you figure it out please let me know! :) I am filled with great joy over the fact that we are sending our sweet child to a Christian school where she will be fed the Word of the living God day in and day out. (Yes, I know we said we were going to homeschool, but we are going to wait one more year to do that - for many reasons to long to put on a blog) We are joyful to see our child soar to new levels of academics as she seeks to glorify the Father in all that she does. I can not wait to see what the Father has in store for all of us this school year.

Until next time.......

Prayer

Father -
You are a holy, wonderful, merciful Savior! Today I come to you and ask that you might grant me, as a mother and wife, the patience, understanding and strength that I need for each day. Thank you for the little ones you have entrusted to our care. Even though they may not get along at all times, You have blessed me by putting them into my life. What a joy they are! Thank you for allowing my husband to choose me despite my faults. Thank you for the love you have put in our hearts for each other! Thank you for such a wonderful blessing. Grant us mercy and grace as we strive to be a family that puts You first in our lives. Grant us wisdom in how to teach our children how to love and glorify You with their whole being. What a mighty and awesome God we serve!

~Amen

Quote

Here is a quote I came across in a book I am reading - loved it so much I thought I would share:

"Try to live your life so that you wouldn't be afraid to sell the family parrot to the town gossip" ~Will Rogers

Conversation

Caroline (our middle daughter) is very much into the Dorothy (from the Wizard of Oz), Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, etc. Yesterday as we were getting ready for church our conversation went something like this:

Caroline: "Momma?"

Me: "Yes."

Caroline: "Can Dorothy come to our church today?!?"

Me: "No, honey"

Caroline: "Why!?!"

Me: "She has to go to her church!"

Caroline: "Oh! What church does she go to?"

Me: "First Presbyterian Church of Oz"

Caroline: "Oh!"

My friend Lisa would be so proud of me! :)

Until next time...........

Conversation

Here is the conversation we had in the van the other day:

EK - "Mom!?"

Me - "Yes"

EK - "Having sisters is sooo much better than having a dog!"

Okay, I just had to laugh! Tis true though! :)

Life of business..........

Yes, family and friends - we are still alive. We have been busy bees over the last couple of months. Everyone is doing fine and we are having a great summer. We hope things will start to slow down before the school year starts back up. Hope everyone is doing well.

Until next time........

Kindergarten 4

Our school year is over and we could not be more proud of our oldest daughter. She had awards night last night at her school and received the "Bible Verse Award". This goes to the student(s) that have memorized all of their verses for the entire school year. We told her last night that if there were ever an award we wanted her to get it would be this one! We pray she will hide the Word of the Living God in her heart and grow to honor, serve and glorify Him!

Until next time......

March 2010

I remember this day last year all too clearly.....I was 37 1/2 weeks pregnant with baby girl number 3, blood pressure up to 169/105, my doctor out of the country and admitted to the hospital for observation. We were scared, but little did we know what God had in store for us over the next couple of weeks! That day turned into St. Patty's day and we welcomed our sweet baby girl, Maggie Ann into the world. She was very sick and was in NICU for 10 days. Those 10 days we spent on our faces before the Great Physician. Ten days later we were bringing our baby girl home! Fast forward to now.....you would never be able to tell she was so sick. She is full of energy. She is walking, trying to talk and loves her sisters very much. We are thankful the Lord allowed us to be parents
